The schedules for the LSU and Rice games were previously set, though prior to Thursday, it wasn’t yet clear which channel would host the Longhorns’ mid-September matchup with the Owls. In terms of newly-scheduled slots, though, Texas first-ever meeting with Louisiana Tech is set to get underway under the lights, which should provide plenty of hype in and of itself.

Elsewhere, the Longhorns and Sooners are scheduled for a familiar time slot with the Cotton Bowl set to split evenly at 11 a.m. CT. Several weeks later, the Longhorns will cap the regular season on Black Friday with a morning meeting with the Red Raiders.
Texas will enter the 2019 campaign aiming to build upon the program’s first 10-win season since 2009. In his second season on the Forty Acres, head coach Tom Herman led the Horns to their first conference championship appearance since 2009, which capped the Colt McCoy era in Austin, and ultimately a Sugar Bowl win over No. 5 Georgia.
