After notching their most notable win of the season, a 41-34 overtime victory over then-No. 6 Oklahoma State, the Texas Longhorns have leaped back into the AP Top 25, appearing at No. 22. Texas has spent the previous three weeks on the outside looking in after falling to Oklahoma for back-to-back losses.
The Amway Coaches Poll has Texas as the first team out, receiving 115 votes.
Now 4-2 (3-2), Texas is one of four ranked Big 12 teams, following No. 19 Oklahoma (4-2, 3-2), No. 17 Iowa State (4-2, 4-1), and No. 14 Oklahoma State (4-1, 3-1). The Cyclones still loom on Texas’ schedule for a post-Thanksgiving meeting on Friday, Nov. 27.
Next up, though, No. 22 Texas will return home to host West Virginia. Kickoff between the Longhorns and Mountaineers is set for 11 a.m. CT on ABC.
