Following their third win in as many games, the Texas Longhorns are back in the AP Top 25 poll, reappearing at No. 21.
The same goes for the USA Today Coaches Poll with Texas making another appearance at No. 23.
After steamrolling the Rice Owls and Texas Tech Red Raiders in back to back weeks, totaling 128 points in the process, Texas had much more of a fight on its hands against the TCU Horned Frogs. In Fort Worth where the Horns hadn’t won since 2013, Steve Sarkisian’s club overcame a slow start and led the entire second half en route to a 32-27 win.
So, with a fourth of the season and the third in three games now in the rearview, Texas sits at 4-1 and 2-0 in Big 12 action.
Meanwhile, in a Big 12 that appears to be completely wide open, Texas is one of just three ranked teams at the moment, joining No. 12 Oklahoma State and the No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners, who the Horns are set to square off with in the Red River Showdown next Saturday.
Kickoff between the No. 21 Longhorns and No. 6 Sooners is set for 11 a.m. CT on ABC.
