Reed initially landed with the Buffalo Bills last May as an undrafted free agency, but failed to make the final 53-man roster and instead, saw time on and off the Bills' practice team before being waived a few weeks ago. Reed will now have three preseason opportunities against Dallas, Atlanta and Tennessee to prove he's worth keeping around on a Dolphins team that already has a fair amount of defensive end depth. The 53-man rosters must be finalized September 4 by 4:00 p.m. ET
At Texas, Reed played in 46 games with 32 starts, recording 180 tackles and 18.5, along with six forced fumbles.
