John Tyler (TX) WR Damion Miller has become the first commit for the Texas Longhorns 2017 class, per the John Tyler football Twitter account.

Miller, a four-star prospect, ranks as the nations No. 41 WR and the No. 29 player in the state of Texas. Despite 247’s Crystal Ball projections favoring Texas A&M, the Longhorns have been gaining steam in Miller’s recruitment as of late and Jay Norvell now has his first pledge of 2017, aided in large part by the work of new tight ends coach Jeff Traylor, who tapped into his East Texas ties to secure Miller's pledge.

Miller also holds offers from Oklahoma State, Kansas and Houston.
