Shaka Smart and his staff are set to host four-star 2016 SG Amir Coffey, according to Minneapolis-area reporter Darren Wolfson. Coffey, the top prospect in Minnesota and the No. 6 shooting guard in the nation has two visits set next month – Minnesota September 5 and Texas September 19, per 247 Sports.
The Hopkins High School product recently made his return to the hardwood after suffering an ACL injury, and with his smooth overall scoring ability and athletic potential, Coffey's recruitment will continue to gain attention throughout his senior season.
Coffey currently holds offers from Minnesota, Texas, – offered August 2 – Baylor, Iowa State and Michigan State, among numerous others. Minnesota currently stands as heavy favorites to land the 6-7 wing.
