After picking up an offer early Sunday morning, junior college kicker Joshua Rowland has committed to the Texas Longhorns.
Well it's been a long time coming but I have committed to the University of Texas! Beyond blessed to have this opportunity! #HookEm pic.twitter.com/DvhFNAXkZZ— Joshua Rowland (@Josh_Rowland14) December 12, 2016
The Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C. product was on campus over the weekend for an official visit and once the ‘Horns added an offer to a list that consisted of UTSA and a handful of FCS schools, it didn’t take long for Rowland to pull the trigger.
As a sophomore, Rowland made 9-of-12 field goals and 32-of-33 extra points this season to follow up a freshman campaign in which he earned second-team NJCAA All-American honors.
"He was an All-American kicker last year who was solid again this year," Mississippi Gulf Coast coach Chad Huff said. "He's a great kicker who was always steady. He helped us in special teams more than you can imagine."
