Tom Herman and the Texas Longhorns staff started the week with offers to a pair of in-state 2018 prospects in Rockdale’s Jaqualyn Crawford and Fort Bend Marshall’s Barton Clement.
Crawford, a three-star cornerback prospect, called Texas his childhood dream school upon adding an offer for the Longhorns.

The offer now has Texas as an early favorite for the 5’10, 163-pound Crawford, who also holds offers from TCU, Texas Tech, SMU, Vanderbilt and Tulsa.
Crawford is ranked as the No. 47 cornerback in the country and the No. 70 player in Texas, per 247Sports Composite.
Texas joins a much larger competition pool with the offer to Clement, a four-star offensive guard out of the Houston area.

Along with the ‘Horns, Clement also holds offers from Texas A&M, Michigan, Ohio State, Auburn and UCLA, among others.
Herman and his staff offered while at Houston, which continues a trend of interest in prospects the staff recruited before coming to Texas.
Clement ranks as the nation’s No. 6 guard and the No. 14 player in Texas.
