Despite the coaching staff change, new Texas Longhorns head coach Tom Herman and his staff won’t have to worry about any outside suitors flipping three-star cornerback Josh Thompson — he’s solid and shutting down his recruitment entirely.
I Will Not Be Accepting Anymore Home Visits Or Accepting Anything ... I'm Settled.. #Hookem
— Josh Thompson ⁶ (@given__talent) December 5, 2016
The former TCU flip has noted his solidity to the Longhorns numerous times and served as a recruiter for Texas on Twitter, but was still entertaining other others, as most prospects do. Ole Miss visited the Nacogdoches product last week following a November 15 offer and Penn State, UCLA and Arizona State all offered since Thompson’s pledge to Texas.
Offensive line coach Derek Warehime has already visited with Thompson following the departure of the previous coaching regime.
Thompson is one of two 2017 cornerback commits, along with three-star Lake Dallas product Kobe Boyce.
