4-Star DE Robert Beal includes Texas Longhorns in new top 5

Beal decommitted from Notre Dame Thursday.

The Texas Longhorns are in the running for one of 2017's top defensive ends.

Robert Beal, a 6-4, 230-pound defensive end from Norcross, Georgia, has included Texas in his new top five along with Florida State, N.C. State, Alabama and South Carolina. He committed to Notre Dame Nov. 1, but decommitted on Thursday.

According to 247Sports, Beal is set to visit Florida State Saturday, Alabama next weekend and South Carolina later in the month. The four-star prospect is expected to visit Texas and N.C. State in March.

"[Texas has] done a tremendous job recruiting Robert since offering last summer," a source told 247Sports. "He has a great relationship with Charlie Strong and the two had a really long, impactful conversation after he decommitted from Notre Dame."
