4-Star DE Robert Beal doesn't include Texas Longhorns in new top 3

Texas is on the outside of the former Notre Dame commit's top three, but the 'Horns still have a chance

One of 2017's top defensive ends listed the Texas Longhorns in his top five back in February, but the 'Horns didn't make the cut for his new top three.

Robert Beal, a 6'4, 230-pound defensive end from Norcross, Georgia, had included Texas in his top five along with Florida State, N.C. State, Alabama and South Carolina.

Interestingly, UGA didn't make the cut then, but Beal now has the Bulldogs on his top trio, with Texas, N.C. State and South Carolina on the outside looking in. The four-star recruit committed to Notre Dame Nov. 1 only to decommit four months later.

Based on a later tweet from Hamilton, Beal is still interested in the 'Horns.

Rivals ranks Beal as the No. 2 weakside defensive end in the country. Watch his Junior year highlights here:
