4-star CG Brandon Rachal to take October OV to Texas

The ‘Horns are in a great position with an opportunity to secure a commitment looming

Four-star Natchitoches Central (La.) combo guard Brandon Rachal will take an official visit to Texas Oct. 15, per multiple reports.

The visit will come the week after Rachal’s Oct. 8 visit to Texas A&M and mark his second trip to the Forty Acres after an unofficial visit over the summer. Rachal visited LSU over the weekend.

At this point in his recruitment, the Louisiana product is extremely high on the Longhorns and his praise for Shaka Smart has been well-documented, though mostly behind paywalls. While nine schools still remain in contention for Rachal, his interest in Texas and admiration for Smart has equated in the ‘Horns holding all seven of his Crystal Ball projections, as well as Rachal being among the four 2017 talents we projected to become Longhorns.

At 6’6, 220, Rachal provides a wide array of skills that would fit seamlessly into a Smart-coached system, as he can slash, shoot at an acceptable rate, score from the post and is an exceptional defender.

Texas looks to be the team to beat with the nation’s No. 5 combo guard and the No. 3 player in Louisiana.
