With National Signing Day just days away, the Texas Longhorns staff continues to make sure attention is placed upon the 2018 class, as the ‘Horns latest offer went out to four-star Cleveland Heights (Oh.) weak-side defensive end Tyreke Smith.

Along with Texas, Smith holds 23 other offers, which include Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and USC. Smith’s offers from Michigan and Ohio State have poured in throughout the last week.

Despite the mass of major offers, expect Texas to become a real player in Smiths recruitment if the staff elects to prioritize him. Head coach Tom Herman, offensive coordinator Tim Beck and running backs coach Stan Drayton each have recruiting ties in the area from their respective time at Ohio State.

At 6’3, 260 pounds, the out-of-state product ranks as the nation’s No. 6 WDE and the No. 7 player in Ohio.
