Tom Herman and the Texas Longhorns have survived the cut for yet another 2017 product, this time in the form of three-star Houston Christian defensive tackle Joshua Rogers.

Along with the ‘Horns, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Baylor, Houston and Ole Miss also are still being considered.
Though Rogers is yet to hold an offer from Texas, he camped with the Longhorns over the summer and his previous contact and offer from the Cougars staff during Herman’s tenure indicates that the in-state product may be among the next prospects Texas offers.
Texas recruiting has picked up over the last few weeks with five pledges and a signee, but the ‘Horns 2017 class is yet to earn a defensive tackle commitment and the options are running thin with National Signing Day just a month away.
At 6’5, 280 pounds, Rogers ranks as the nation’s No. 63 defensive tackle and the No. 124 player in the state, per 247Sports Composite.
