Top-ranked JUCO OT Badara Traore set to officially visit Texas

Texas could benefit from some added depth and talent on the line and Traore could be an ideal addition.

Offensive line remains a key need this cycle and the Texas Longhorns will host one of the best on the market later this month.

Asa College (N.Y.) offensive tackle Badara Traore, the nation’s top-ranked JUCO prospect, will officially visit Texas on Oct. 21 when the ‘Horns host Oklahoma State, per Mike Roach of 247Sports.

Texas offered the four-star prospect on Sept. 15 and has since seen its All-American tackle Connor Williams fall victim to a knee injury. With or without the MCL damage, Williams’ time as a Longhorns is likely done following the 2017 season, which makes the need for finding a quality replacement essential.

Texas does already have a pair of pledges from offensive line talents in Rafiti Ghirmai and Reese Moore, but Traore would provide the ‘Horns with immediate experience and some tremendous talent.

LSU currently holds all three of Traore’s Crystal ball projections, but this is a recruitment that Texas has a relatively plain pitch in — playing time.

At 6’8, 315 pounds, Traore is ranked as the nation’s No. 5 JUCO player and the No. 1 JUCO offensive tackle, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
