Elite combo guard Quentin Grimes will bring his recruitment to a close this week, as the College Park product is set to choose between the Texas Longhorns and Kansas Jayhawks on Wednesday evening.

A five-star talent from the Houston-area, Grimes has long been considered a Kansas lean, but Texas has made up plenty of ground down the stretch. The ‘Horns hosted Grimes for his official visit on Sept. 22 and Shaka Smart has since visited Grimes several times; as recently as Nov. 11 to watch Grimes’ season opener.

Much of the same can be said for Bill Self and the Jayhawks. Since his Oct. 23 official visit, Self has visited Grimes on numerous occasions, including as recently as Sunday.

Kansas is considered the favorite just days ahead of his commitment, although not by a large margin. Although Kansas owns a 78 percent edge in Grimes’ Crystal Ball projections, the latest pick favored Texas.

A 6’5, 200-pound scorer, Grimes is ranked as the nation’s No. 16 player and the No. 2 combo guard, per the 247Sports Composite.
