Tom Herman and his staff continue to explore running back options from outside the state’s border as Birmingham Mountain Brook (Ala.) running back Harold Joiner notched an offer from the Texas Longhorns on Tuesday.

A four-star prospect, Joiner holds 23 offers to date and is generating major interest from around the SEC, as Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, South Carolina and Missouri have all offered.
With Texas becoming the latest to offer, Joiner becomes the seventh running back target in the 2018 cycle to pick up an offer from Texas and with the exception of four-star Carthage product Keaontay Ingram, they’re all out-of-state options.
Although Stan Drayton’s reputation as a recruiter and talent developer is nationally renowned, he’ll have his hands full prying Joiner away from the tight grip of local SEC powers such as Alabama and Auburn.
Joiner ranks as the nation's No. 301 player, No. 17 running back and the No. 11 player in Alabama, per 247Sports Composite.
