Texas among Top 15 for 4-star S DeMarvion Overshown

The Longhorns are considered the favorite so it’s not a surprise they’re still in the mix following Thursday’s cut.

Arp safety DeMarvion Overshown trimmed his list of 26 offers down to 15 remaining contenders on Thursday and as expected, the Texas Longhorns are still firmly in the mix.

Baylor, Texas A&M, Auburn, Florida State, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Florida, Oklahoma State, Ohio State, TCU, Clemson, Alabama, LSU and Stanford are also listed as programs still in contention going forward.

A four-star prospect, Overshown is extremely high on the Longhorns and at this point, he’s currently projected to end up playing football in Austin. At 6’4, 200 pounds, Overshown is ranked as the nation’s No. 11 safety prospect, but he also plays linebacker and considering Texas has already landed Caden Sterns and is in excellent position with BJ Foster, it’s likely Overshown would transition into a full-time role at linebacker if he chooses Texas.

He still plans to visit Alabama, Clemson, Florida State over the summer, but the Longhorns should feel good about where they stand in this recruitment. Overshown plans to shut his recruitment down at some point this summer.

As a junior, Overshown was an absolute menace defensively and recorded 153 tackles, along with three interceptions.

Overshown ranks as the nation’s No. 109 player and the No. 13 player in Texas, per 247Sports Composite.
