In addition to Tom Herman, four-star Spring Dekaney tight end Malcolm Epps will now also have Shaka Smart in his hear urging him to join the burnt orange nation after the multi-sport athlete picked up a Texas Longhorns basketball offer on Wednesday.

One of the nation’s premier tight end targets, Epps is a former Alabama football commit that reopened his recruitment at Nike’s The Opening in Houston in February and the Longhorns have since emerged as a heavy favorite in his recruitment.
Now, along with the opportunity to catch passes inside of Darrell K Royal—Texas Memorial Stadium, Smart and his staff have offered Epps the opportunity to catch lobs inside of the Frank Erwin Center.
Along with the Longhorns, Epps also holds a basketball offer from Texas A&M, which offered the night before Texas.
As a junior for Spring Dekaney, Epps averaged 14.9 points and 9.4 rebounds.
If Herman and Smart can successfully haul in one of the nation’s most versatile athletes, it’s possible we’ll be seeing Epps with a helmet and shoulder pads in the fall and a jersey, shorts and sneakers in the winter and spring.
