Once again, a key Texas target trimmed his list and once again, the Longhorns survived the cut after elite Manvel wide receiver Jalen Preston announced his Top 12 on Sunday morning.
Along with the Longhorns, Preston listed Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Baylor, Michigan, Utah, Ole Miss, LSU, Oregon, Louisville, Florida and TCU as the programs he’ll continue to consider going forward.

Colorado, Georgia, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State and Penn State are among the schools that were excluded from Preston’s top 12.
A four-star recruit, Preston was among the mass of talent that visited Texas for junior day in February and also visited the Forty Acres a few times in 2015 and 2016, as well. To remain a contender in Preston’s recruitment, though, Texas will certainly need to get him back on campus at some point in the summer and likely even during the fall for an official visit.
To date, Texas A&M is considered the heavy favorite to ultimately earn Preston’s pledge, owning all eight of his Crystal Ball projections.
A 6’2, 212-pound prospect, Preston ranks as the nation’s No. 38 player, No. 6 wide receiver and the No. 4 player in Texas, according to 247Sports Composite.
