On Saturday, elite Houston Lamar wide receiver Al’vonte Woodard will be committed to the school of his choice.

Back in the middle of June, Woodard announced via Twitter that he’ll be choosing between LSU, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Texas and Texas A&M on July 15.

A four-star prospect, Woodard is among numerous key Texas targets set to visit the Forty Acres next week, which provides further perspective on where the ‘Horns stand with the Houston-area product. As it stands, the ‘Horns are widely considered the favorite in Woodard’s recruitment and to date, Texas holds all 14 of his Crystal Ball projections.

As expected, a commitment from Woodard would not only help Texas with several targets from around the state, but he’s teammates with priority prospects Anthony Cook and D’shawn Jamison. Both are extremely high on the Longhorns, as well, with Texas being the heavy favorite for Jamison and considered to be amid a two-horse race for Cook’s services with Ohio State.

Landing Woodard could serve as a substantial step towards ultimately gaining pledges for the noted elite cornerbacks.

At 6’1, 193 pounds, Woodard ranks as the nation’s No. 77 player, No. 14 wide receiver and the No. 10 player in Texas, per the 247Sports Composite.
