4-star WR Jalen Preston names Texas in Top 6

If Texas wants Preston, it still has its work cut out going forward.

The Texas Longhorns remain in the mix with Manvel wide receiver Jalen Preston, who released his top six today.

In addition to Texas, Waddle named Oregon, Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss and Oklahoma as his finalists going forward.

A four-star prospect, Preston visited Texas for the spring game, but it would come as a major surprise if he lands anywhere other than Texas A&M. The Aggies have long been considered the frontrunner for Preston’s services and that holds true today, with Texas A&M holding all nine of his Crystal Ball projections.

If Preston ends up in College Station, as expected, Texas is still heavily in the mix with key wide receiver targets including five stars Brennan Eagles and Terrace Marshall and four stars Al’vonte Woodard and Jaylen Waddle.

As for now, though, Texas still remains in the mix with Preston, despite Tom Herman’s staff prioritizing other in-state options.

Preston ranks as the nation’s No. 46 player, No. 8 wide receiver and the No. 5 player in Texas, per 247Sports Composite.
