Texas offers 4-star WR Tommy Bush

The offer Tommy Bush awaited finally came Saturday afternoon.

Four-star Schertz Clemens wide receiver Tommy Bush holds offers from just about every school a major prospect would want to play for, but up until Saturday afternoon, his offer list didn’t include the Texas Longhorns.

That changed following Bush’s visit to the Forty Acres for the ‘Horns pool party event.

To date, Bush holds 44 offers with TCU, Baylor, Texas A&M and Oklahoma among the schools going after him the hardest. Whether Texas joins that list with commitment dates from key targets Brennan Eagles and Al’vonte Woodard looming remains to be seen, and we may not know until mid-July, but Bush recently said Texas was the primary offer he was still waiting for.

“Texas, definitely, being 45 minutes right up the road,” Bush said in mid-May. “I’ve talked to coach Tom Herman on the phone and coach [Drew] Mehringer. He’s come to my practices a couple times evaluated me. We’ve had good contact.”

While Texas may have some ground to make up if Tom Herman and his staff elect to make a push for Bush, the San Antonio-area product said he’s in no rush to make a decision and is fine dragging his recruitment out until National Signing Day.

At 6’4.5, 191 pounds, Bush ranks as the nation’s No. 169 player, No. 32 wide receiver and the No. 20 player in Texas, per 247Sports Composite.
