The Texas Longhorns will be hosting one of the nation’s premier prospects to kick the weekend off, as Horns247 reports that 2019 Louisville Trinity weak-side defensive end Stephen Herron Jr. is visiting the Forty Acres on Friday.
A five-star prospect out of Louisville Trinity (Ky.), Herron picked up a Texas offer on May 22 and more recently, he named the Longhorns in his top 10 on June 18.
Along with Texas hoping to put itself in an ideal position with the Kentucky powerhouse product this weekend, the Longhorns are surging with Herron’s teammate, four-star wide receiver Rondale Moore. If Texas can secure Moore’s pledge, which is becoming expected, the ‘Horns chances with Herron should certainly increase a bit.
The elite 6’3.5, 235-pound prospect is ranked as the nation’s No. 38 player, No. 4 weak-side defensive end and the No. 1 player in Kentucky, per 247Sports Composite.
