After hosting a pair of elite recruits over the weekend in 2020 Little Elp point guard RJ Hampton on Friday and 2018 CIbolo Steele small forward Gerald Liddell on Saturday, Shaka Smart will reportedly have another high-level talent on campus on Monday.
According to a report for Eric Bossi of Rivals.com, 2019 Denton Guyer small forward Jalen Willson will be touring the Forty Acres on Monday before heading across the Red River to visit Oklahoma on Tuesday.
A four-star wing prospect, Wilson doesn’t yet hold a Texas offer, although it wouldn’t be a surprise if that news came following today's visit. To date, Wilson holds seven offers from Marquette, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, SMU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and VCU, with the bulk of his offers rolling in throughout the spring.
At this point, Texas only has offers out to three 2019 small forwards and doesn't appear to be considered a legitimate landing spot for any of them. Texas would likely be tasked with battling Oklahoma for Wilson’s signature if the ‘Horns do elect to jump in the mix with one of the top prospects in the state.
At 6’6, 185 pounds, Wilson ranks as the nation’s No. 122 player, No. 45 small forward and the No. 9 player in Texas, per 247Sports Composite.
