4-star ILB Ayodele Adeoye commits to Texas

The nation’s No. 5 recruiting class just picked up another significant addition.

Just days after Tom Herman’s 2018 class surged into the nation’s top five recruiting hauls following the addition of four-star Arp safety DeMarvion Overshown, yet another highly touted prospect followed suit with St. Louis Ritenour inside linebacker Ayodele Adeoye announcing his commitment to the Texas Longhorns on Sunday night.

A four-star prospect, Adeoye made the trek from St. Louis down the the Forty Acres this weekend for an unofficial visit and it was becoming clear throughout the past few days that a commitment may be on the horizon. Such beliefs have now come to fruition and the elite inside linebacker prospect is a Longhorn.

Adeoye sided with Texas over a host of other programs including LSU, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, and Oklahoma, among others. Adeoye holds 25 total offers to date.

With the Missouri native on board, Adeoye gives the Longhorns commit No. 11 and their third in the last six days. More notably, he becomes the fifth out-of-state prospect to join the Longhorns this cycle, proving that Herman and his staff have quickly reestablished the Longhorns brand outside of the state’s borders.

At 6’0, 231 pounds, Adeoye ranks as the nation’s No. 124 player, No. 5 inside linebacker and the No. 4 player in Missouri, per 247Sports Composite.
