4-star CB D’shawn Jamison includes Texas in Top 5

The ‘Horns are still firmly in the mix with a key target from the Houston-area.

Only five remain in contention for elite Houston Lamar cornerback D’shawn Jamison and as expected following his Sunday night top five release, the Texas Longhorns are still in the mix. TCU, Oregon, Michigan and USC join the Longhorns as the finalists that will be competing for Jamison’s services down the stretch.

A four-star target, Jamison is extremely high on the Longhorns and after visiting the Forty Acres multiple times throughout the spring and developing a strong relationship with the staff, it would be a surprise if Jamison isn’t ultimately a Longhorn. Burnt Orange Nation has been told by other key Texas targets that Jamison has been recruiting others to join him in Austin for some time now.

That said, TCU is still a team to keep an eye on going forward, as is Oregon. Ultimately, though, with the way recruiting momentum is favoring Tom Herman and the ‘Horns right now, Texas appears to have a comfortable edge after Jamison recently named the Longhorns his leader.

The Longhorns currently hold 73 percent of Jamison’s Crystal Ball projections. He’s set to make his decision in August.

A 5’10, 174-pound priority prospect, Jamison is ranked as the nation’s No. 137 player, No. 17 cornerback and the No. 15 player in Texas, per 247Sports Composite.
