No. 1 2019 S Brian Williams sets Texas visit

New, comments

Can Texas put itself in position to land the nation’s No. 1 safety for the third time in three classes following this month’s visit?

While Tom Herman and his staff are making waves throughout the 2018 class, they’re still putting forth effort with future classes as elite 2019 safety Brian Williams told Burnt Orange Nation set to visit the Texas Longhorns on June 16.

The nation’s top-ranked safety prospect out of Bishop Dunne, Williams notched his Texas offer on November 29, just days after Herman was hired, and as expected, he’s a priority for the staff. Although Texas is a long way from securing a commitment from Williams, the staff can take a step forward as a favorite following this month’s visit.

Also worth noting; the nation’s No. 1 safety prospect has been a Texas native in two of the last three classes, with Texas cashing in on Brandon Jones and BJ Foster in the 2016 and 2018 classes, respectively. The ‘Horns will look to make that effort three-of-four in 2019 with Williams, though Texas will face no shortage of competition for Williams’ services.

To date, Williams holds 32 offers with programs such as Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma and USC having extended invitations.

At 6’0, 185 pounds, Williams ranks as the nation’s No. 12 player and the No. 1 player in Texas, per 247Sports.
