According to Justin Wells of Inside Texas, Newbury Park (Cal.) quarterback Cameron Rising will make his official visit to Austin Oct. 21, 2017, when the Texas Longhorns take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

A four-star prospect out of Newbury Park High School in Newbury Park, California, Rising is the No. 7 pro-style quarterback and the No. 156 player in the country. The 6-foot-2, 209-pound signal caller is a part of a stacked 2018 Texas recruiting class that has 11 players ranked in the top 10 at their position.

Texas will need to work to hold its commitment from Rising, as the Oregon Ducks are also making a push for the quarterback. Rising already changed commitments once, flipping his commitment from Oklahoma to Texas in April.

A strong showing against one of the nation’s top teams will go a long way to cement Rising’s commitment to the Longhorns.
