A four-star prospect out of Aledo, Carter plays both sides of the ball as a receiver and a cornerback for Aledo. As a junior, he hauled in 10 receptions for 232 yards and one touchdowns, while notching 28 tackles, two interceptions and three pass deflections in the secondary. Carter projects as a defensive back at the next level.
Along with Oklahoma and now Texas, Carter also holds invitations Baylor, Georgia, Houston, Illinois, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Penn State and Texas Tech.
Carter committed to the Sooners while on an unofficial visit to Norman in late July, but since his Houston offer in August, Texas is the first program to offer since his pledge.
A 6’0, 180-pound prospect, Carter is ranked as the nation’s No. 230 player, No. 21 athlete and the No. 28 player in Texas, per the 247Sports Composite.
