Lake Travis gunslinger Hudson Card is no longer the lone member of head coach Tom Herman’s 2020 recruiting haul. On Sunday evening, Card found company in the form of Helotes O’Connor offensive guard Logan Parr, who brought his recruitment to an early close and announced his commitment to the Texas Longhorns.

A four-star prospect, Parr’s offer list includes programs from every Power 5 conference, with invitations stemming from Texas, Oklahoma, TCU, LSU, Tennessee, Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, and Duke, among others. All totaled, Parr holds 21 offers; a number that will likely continue to increase, despite his commitment to Texas.

Parr’s Texas offer came in early September while on the Forty Acres for the 28-21 win over Tulsa. Just more than a month removed from that invitation, Parr returned to take in the sights for Texas’ 23-17 win over Baylor on Oct. 13.

As Parr’s relationship with the Longhorns staff and offensive line coach Herb Hand continued to grow, Crystal Ball picks began to roll in. Aside from a lone Texas Tech pick placed back in March, Parr-to-Texas was the unanimous projection.

Of course, those picks have now proven accurate, as Parr now becomes the third recruit to commit to Texas throughout the past week, regardless of class, joining four-star 2019 Odessa Permian athlete Peyton Powell and four-star 2019 Saint Louis (Mo.) Trinity Catholic wide receiver Marcus Washington.

Parr is one of just four 2020 offensive guard prospects with a Texas offer, but he’s the top-ranked offensive guard in the state. Per the 247Sports Composite, Parr is ranked as the nation’s No. 4 offensive guard and as the No. 130 player overall.

With Parr now pledged to play for Texas, the 2020 class has climbed into the top 20 nationally at No. 18, and third in the Big 12, trailing Oklahoma State (No. 16) and Oklahoma (No. 5).
