Elite 2020 RB Seth McGowan notches Texas offer

The Longhorns join a lengthy list of high-profile potential suitors.

Once again, the Texas Longhorns are in the market for some of the top running back talent the 2020 cycle has to offer. On Sunday, Texas put an offer on the table for elite Mesquite Poteet product Seth McGowan, he announced on Twitter.

Rated as a four-star prospect, McGowan is now up to 23 total offers, with invitations stemming from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Stanford, Texas A&M, and Wisconsin.

McGowan’s Texas offer becomes the latest after Longhorns running back coach Stan Drayton was in to see him last week as McGowan continues his breakout campaign. Now up to 1,065 yards and 16 touchdowns on just 125 attempts, McGowan has already surpassed his entire 2017 efforts (151 attempts, 1,020 yards, 14 TD) with two regular season games remaining.

McGowan has rushed for 239 yards twice this season, including last Friday in a 41-19 win over West Mesquite.

Unsurprisingly, his recruiting stock continues to rise, with Texas now making McGowan one of just eight 2020 running backs with a Longhorns offer, alongside the likes of each of the nation’s top four running back prospects.

At 5’11, 200 pounds, McGowan is ranked as the nation’s No. 84 player, No. 10 running back, and as the No. 12 player in Texas, per the 247Sports Composite.
