Commits, recruits react to Texas’ 24-10 win over Iowa State

Longhorns commits and targets were impressed with Texas’ performance on the field on Saturday.

On Saturday, in addition to welcoming Iowa State, the Texas Longhorns hosted a number of recruits for the final home stand of the season.

Following the Longhorns 24-10 win over the Cyclones, Burnt Orange Nation caught up with recruits for their reaction to Texas’ latest win.

2019

David Gbenda — 4-star ILB — Katy Cinco Ranch — Texas commit: “My visit to Austin was good and fun. The outcome of the game was even better than expected, due to the fact that I thought it was going to be a tough game.”

Peter Mpagi — 3-star WDE — George Ranch — Texas commit: “My visit was great. loved the atmosphere at DKR, the defense played really good, and I can’t wait to get up there and be apart of the team.”

2020

Kelee Ringo — 5-star CB —Saguaro (Az): “The game was amazing. The coaching staff treated me and my mom very well. They will definitely be in my top five schools.”

Troy Omeire — 4-star WR — Fort Bend Austin: “I enjoyed the game, especially watching great receivers from both teams.”

Kelvontay Dixon — 3-star ATH — Carthage: “It was great and it had a great atmosphere.”

Braedon Nutter — 3-star DL/OL — Tomball Memorial: “It’s always a fun experience there and the Iowa State game did not disappoint. Both Coach Giles & Coach Hand invited me back to this game and I had a great conversation with both of them while on campus. Hoping to be offered by UT in the near future.”

2021

Latrell Neville — Unranked WR — Fort Bend Willow Ridge: “It’s always a good time at the Forty Acres. The way their receiving core has been playing is amazing.”
