On a day in which the focus is almost entirely centered around the current class, Tom Herman and his staff still put forth some effort in pursuing a future prospect, as four-star 2021 Mesquite Horn inside linebacker Kendrick Blackshire notched an offer from the Texas Longhorns on Wednesday.

One of the premier prospects in his class, Blackshire’s latest offer from Texas pushes his total to 13, with Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M among the others in the mix. At this early juncture, Oklahoma owns three of Blackshire’s five Crystal Ball projections, with the other two favoring LSU.
As a sophomore, Blackshire was a mainstay around the ball, totaling 111 tackles and nine tackles for loss. He also registered one sack and two quarterback hurries.
At 6’2, 250 pounds, Blackshire is ranked as the No. 23 player in the 2021 class, and as the No. 1 outside linebacker, per 247Sports.
