In hopes of addressing a need along the defensive line, the Texas Longhorns are set to host Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive tackle Antoine Whitner for an official visit this weekend, he noted on Twitter.

A teammate of key Texas running back targets Trey Sanders and Noah Cain, Whitner is yet to add an offer from the Longhorns, though that may very well be set to change during or shortly after his trip to the Forty Acres. Whitner does have 10 offers to choose from, with Virginia Tech, Oregon, Nebraska, Florida, Ole Miss, Indiana among those in the mix.
If Texas does put an offer on the table, Whitner would become just the sixth defensive tackle to notch an offer from the Longhorns this cycle. Of the five currently with an invitation in hand, all but one — top-ranked Amite (La.) product Ishmael Sopsher — are committed elsewhere, and Sopsher is projected to stay home and sign with LSU.
At 6’4, 295 pounds, Whitner is ranked as the nation’s No. 1,289 player, the No. 76 defensive tackle, and the No. 178 player in Florida, per the 247Sports Composite.
