Texas is a now finalist for yet another high-level talent.

On Monday, four-star Loganville (Ga.) Grayson safety Kenyatta Watson II announced his top two and the Longhorns are still a factor, along with Notre Dame.

“I felt like the coaches were very genuine,” Watson told Burnt Orange Nation of why Texas made his top two. “I felt very comfortable there. I liked the way they use the DBs.”

A former Florida State pledge, Watson is owner to 39 total offers, including invitations from Oklahoma, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Texas A&M and USC, among numerous others.

As far as Texas is concerned, the Longhorns hosted Watson for an unofficial visit just weeks ago on Feb. 24, and the Georgia native will return to Austin next month for an official visit on April 27, which will come the week after his official visit to Notre Dame on April 20.

The cousin(by marriage) of Texas tight end Reese Leitao, Watson said he’s looking forward to spending time with the currently players while in Austin next month.

Per his Crystal Ball, the ‘Horns will have some work to do during that visit, as three of five projections favor the Irish with the other two picking Florida State, which is no longer in the mix.

Watson doesn’t have a decision date in mind that this time.

A 6’2, 187-pound prospect, Watson is ranked as the nation’s No. 222 player, No. 15 safety and the No. 24 player in Georgia, per the 247Sports Composite.
