Only five schools remain in the mix for coveted Houston Dekaney cornerback Marcus Banks.

After releasing a top nine early last month, Banks announced his top five schools on Sunday and as expected, the Texas Longhorns remain in the mix. Banks final group also includes LSU, Alabama, Auburn and Texas A&M.

After being excluded from his previous list, Auburn is now a factor, while Stanford, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Baylor have each been eliminated from contention.

Ranked as a four-star prospect, Banks recently visited Texas for Junior Day and to this point, the Longhorns are considered the frontrunner, as Tom Herman’s program holds six of his seven Crystal Ball projections. In the coming weeks, Texas will be presented with an opportunity to solidify its place in Banks’ recruitment, as the Houston native is scheduled to officially visit Austin on May 4.

Banks is also scheduled to officially visit Texas A&M the week before his trip to Austin. He visited the Aggies over the weekend for Texas A&M’s spring game.

Banks is ranked as the No. 360 player in the nation, the No. 33 cornerback and the No. 45 player in Texas, per the 247Sports Composite.
