By Sunday evening, either the Texas Longhorns or the Ohio State Buckeyes will add elite Lake Travis wide receiver Garrett Wilson to their 2019 recruiting haul, as the local product set his commitment day for Sunday evening at 8:00 p.m.
I’ll be announcing my commitment tomorrow, April 29th at 8PM via Twitter, and Instagram. #TTWFO

The five-star prospect recently announced Texas and Ohio State as his two finalists, and Wilson has since officially visited each program, touring Columbus over the April 13 weekend and then making the short trek to the Forty Acres the following weekend for the Longhorns spring game on April 21.
For Texas to have a punchers chance in this recruitment, the Longhorns simply needed to impress on the offensive side of the ball during their spring game, and various reports have indicated that Texas did, in fact, leave Wilson with something to think about. The general consensus that Ohio State is the team to beat remains, though.
If Wilson were to commit to Ohio State, not only would be be able to return to his hometown and play for a program currently among college football’s upper echelon, but he would join former Lake Travis teammate and four-star Buckeyes signee Matthew Baldwin in Columbus. And as far as Texas is concerned, missing on Wilson could prove to be a massive blow tot the Longhorns recruiting efforts this cycle. Urban Meyer and Ohio State are aggressively pursuing several key Texas targets, such as running back Noah Cain and wide receiver Elijah Higgins. It’s quite possible, if not likely that what happens with Wilson will impact their recruitments, either for or against Texas.
With just hours remaining before Wilson’s announcement, Ohio State still stands as the overwhelming favorite, with each of his last 13 Crystal Ball projections favoring the Buckeyes.
