One of the nation’s top 2020 prospects is now officially on the Texas Longhorns’ radar.
On Monday, the Longhorns extended an offer to Las Vegas (Nev.) Desert Pines strong-side defensive end Darnell Washington, he announced on Twitter.
Another BIG blessing to receive my 16th offer to The University Of Texas. Thank you God is Amazing #HookEm @GregBiggins @ticorod39 @adamgorney @247Sports @702HSFB @bangulo pic.twitter.com/QGbBavpSWS

A four-star prospect, Washington is now up to 16 offers with invitations stemming from Oklahoma, Alabama, Oregon, Nebraska, and UCLA, among others.
As seen by his film, Washington also stars as a tight end with a tremendous frame at 6-foot-7.5, 238 pounds long before his junior season. However, he’s largely being recruited as a strong-side defensive end. The Longhorns like his upside at the position to the point that he is now the first 202 strong-side defensive end prospect to pick up a Texas offer.
Washington is ranked as the nation’s No. 88 player, the No. 5 strong-side defensive end, and as the No. 1 player in Nevada, per the 247Sports Composite.
