Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Mississippi State, Tennessee, and Utah were each previously named in Tongue’s top 10 in mid-May, but are now on the outside looking in.
Prior to announcing his final three, Tongue has taken official visits to each of his finalists. Texas was the first tour on May 4, followed by Arizona State on June 1, and most recently, Georgia on June 14. The Longhorns did receive an unofficial visit in between his initial official visit and his trip to Arizona State.
Aiming for an August decision, the Longhorns will likely push to get Tongue back on campus in hopes of another late push. Texas was once considered the frontrunner, but a recent push from Georgia now has the Bulldogs owning four of his six Crystal Ball projections.
A four-star athlete, Tongue is being recruited by Texas as a wide receiver, but he plays outside linebacker, as well.
At 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, Tongue is ranked as the nation’s No. 221 player, No. 15 athlete and the No. 11 player in Louisiana.
