Just weeks after the Texas Longhorns put an offer on the table on July 14, Orlando (Fla.) Christian prep power forward CJ Walker named Shaka Smart’s program as one of his top schools.
The four-star Florida star trimmed his lengthy list of 37 offers to 12 teams, with Texas joining Memphis, Arizona, LSU, Florida, Miami, Arkansas, N.C. State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Georgia as the schools still in the mix.

Providence, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Iowa State, Texas A&M, Xavier, and Auburn was among the more than two dozen schools that missed the cut, as well as Louisville and Tennessee, which are the only two programs to receive Crystal Ball projections thus far.
Of the programs still being considered, Walkers recruitment is still fairly wide open. He’s aiming for a November commitment date, though, so things will intensify quote considerably throughout the coming months as Walker begins his official visit tour.
A rising prospect who’s seen his stock explode throughout the spring and summer, Walker averaged 13 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game as a junior.
The 6’8, 200-pound prospect is ranked as the nation’s No. 46 overall player, No. 10 power forward, and as the No. 10 player in Florida, per the 247Sports Composite.
