Texas extends offer to 2021 OLB Jonathan Flowe

The California product becomes the first 2021 outside linebacker to notch an offer from the Longhorns.

As has become the case quite consistently throughout the Tom Herman era, the Texas Longhorns are looking west in pursuit of top-tier talent. The latest example of such a search came on Tuesday afternoon, as the Texas Longhorns put an offer on the table for 2021 Upland (Calif.) outside linebacker prospect Jonathan Flowe, he announced on Twitter.

The younger brother of top-ranked 2020 Texas inside linebacker prospect Justin Flowe, Jonathan’s latest offer now sees him become the first outside linebacker in his class to earn an invitation from the Longhorns, and just the second linebacker overall. Texas joins 13 other programs seeking Flowe’s services, with USC, Washington, UCLA, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Florida among those with offers on the table.

The 6’2, 205-pound Flowe is currently unranked, but his already impressive offer list and the fact that he’s the first prospect at his position to pick up a Texas offer speaks to his upside as a coveted and potentially elite talent.

As a sophomore, Flowe was nothing short of a menace and a mainstay in opposing backfields, as he totaled 67 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and 13 quarterback hurries.
