Phillips offer list now features 30 programs from across the country, including Alabama, Washington, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Texas A&M. Phillips has already taken unofficial trips to Texas A&M, LSU and Alabama.
Phillips is now the eighth 2020 cornerback prospect to notch an offer from Tom Herman’s program, and the fifth to hail from outside of the state’s borders.
A two-way talent who also excels as a receiver, Phillips hauled in 54 receptions for 1,210 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2018. Defensively, he’s credited with 18 total tackles, 10 passes defended and a pair of interceptions.
A 5’10.5, 178-pound prospect, Phillips is ranked as the nation’s No. 52 player, No. 6 cornerback, and as the No. 9 player in California, per the 247Sports Composite.
