The eyes of Texas are upon California once again, as the Texas Longhorns have put an offer on the table for 2020 La Habra (Calif.) cornerback Clark Phillips III, he announced Tuesday on Twitter.

Phillips offer list now features 30 programs from across the country, including Alabama, Washington, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Texas A&M. Phillips has already taken unofficial trips to Texas A&M, LSU and Alabama.

Phillips is now the eighth 2020 cornerback prospect to notch an offer from Tom Herman’s program, and the fifth to hail from outside of the state’s borders.

A two-way talent who also excels as a receiver, Phillips hauled in 54 receptions for 1,210 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2018. Defensively, he’s credited with 18 total tackles, 10 passes defended and a pair of interceptions.

A 5’10.5, 178-pound prospect, Phillips is ranked as the nation’s No. 52 player, No. 6 cornerback, and as the No. 9 player in California, per the 247Sports Composite.
