3-star 2020 CB Jalen Kimber includes Texas in top 10

The Mansfield Timberview star camped with the Longhorns last summer.

Only 10 teams remain in the mix with 2020 Mansfield Timberview cornerback Jalen Kimber. The Texas Longhorns are among that bunch, as are Arkansas, Purdue, Michigan, SMU, TCU, Missouri, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, and Penn State, Kimber announced on Wednesday.

A three-star talent with 17 offers to date, Kimber’s list cut left Baylor, Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech on the outside looking in, among others.

Of the program’s still standing, Texas A&M is projected as the team to beat, with the Aggies owning four of Kimber’s five Crystal Ball picks. Texas, on the other hand, didn’t officially jump into the mix with the 6’1, 170-pound prospect until Dec. 28, though he’s been on campus prior to that point, as Kimber camped with the Longhorns last summer.

Since that trip to the Forty Acres, Kimber’s junior season saw him total 34 tackles, six pass breakups, and three interceptions.

Kimber is ranked as the nation’s No. 471 player, No. 31 cornerback, and as the No. 60 player in Texas, per the 247Sports Composite.
