On Thursday evening, Pearland outside linebacker Anton Simieou took to Twitter to announce that he’ll be joining the Texas Longhorns football program as a walk-on.

Listed at 5’11, 200 pounds, according to his MaxPreps profile, Simieou is currently unranked.
According to his MaxPreps profile, as a junior in 2018, Simieou tallied 36 total tackles (25 solo), six tackles for loss, five sacks, two quarterback hurries and two passes defended en route to Second-Team All-District 23-6A honors.
As a senior this fall, he was one of Pearland’s team captains, and after helping lead the Oilers into the Class 6A Division I playoffs (where they lost 28-23 in the first round to state-ranked Dickinson), he was named to the All-District First Team at inside linebacker. The District 23-6A postseason honors release listed him at 5’10 and 210 pounds. His senior highlight video on Hudl claimed season stats of 80 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and four sacks.
