One of the top talents in the Bluegrass is one step closer to a decision, and the Texas Longhorns remain a team atop his mind.
On Tuesday evening, 2021 Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglas offensive guard Jager Burton trimmed his list of 18 offers to seven finalists in Texas is still standing, alongside Oregon, Kentucky, Penn State, Ohio State, Alabama, and Clemson, Burton announced on Twitter.
Burton was on hand when Texas’ 2019 season got underway, as he unofficially visited Austin for the Horns’ 45-14 win over Louisiana Tech, during which he earned his offer. Burton has since toured each of his other finalists, including two trips to Kentucky, which isn’t surprising given that he resides in the Wildcats’ backyard.
Burton is currently ranked as the nation’s No. 5 offensive guard and as the top overall prospect in Kentucky, per the 247Sports Composite.
