A four-star talent ranked as the No. 2 cornerback prospect in his class, per 247Sports, Barnes’ Texas offer brings his total to 31, as he also holds invitations from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M, just to name a few. Grimes has been reciprocating that interest, as well, making his fair share of stops on the recruiting trail, as he’s already toured South Carolina, Tennessee, Penn State, Maryland, Alabama, TCU, and Texas A&M this offseason.
At this early juncture, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech have each earned Crystal Ball picks for the coveted prospect.
The 6’0, 180-pound Grimes is ranked as the nation’s No. 27 overall player as as the top talent in Virginia.
