The Texas Longhorns’ pursuit of interior talent has once again led them to the JUCO ranks, as the Longhorns latest offer has gone out of Iowa Western C.C. defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey, he announced on Twitter.

Winfrey’s Texas offer pushes his total to 19 scholarship options, with the Horns joining Alabama, Penn State, Oklahoma, Miami, and Tennessee in the mix, just to name a select few. Given that the 6’4, 305-pound Winfrey has no shortage of prominent programs from which to choose, expect Texas to utilize the fact that Winfrey’s former teammate, three-star offensive tackle signee Willie Tyler, is set to step foot on campus as a member of Tom Herman’s 2019 class.
As far as Winfrey is concerned, he becomes the eighth defensive tackle prospect to tally a Texas offer this cycle, though he’s the lone JUCO standout among the bunch.
During his debut season with Iowa Western C.C., the Illinois native totaled 27 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and four sacks.
Winfrey is currently unranked.
