A three-star receiver, Cain received a Texas offer in late April and announced that he would be committing on Thursday. The 6’a2, 175-pound pass catcher fits a the mold of the outside receivers Texas has taken in the last few classes, with Troy Omeire in 2020 and Marcus Washington in 2019.
With the addition of Cain, who’s ranked as the nation’s No. 143 wide receiver and as the No. 26 player in Louisiana per the 247Sports Composite, Texas now sits at 11 commitments in the 2021 cycle, joining Landen King as potential targets for quarterback Jalen Milroe. With momentum building, the Longhorns hold the top class in the Big 12 and the No. 13 class in the country while waiting for the recruiting process to normalize in the coming weeks and months.
