The Texas Longhorns have become a frequent recruiting presence in Missouri throughout the Tom Herman era, and those efforts were evident again on Tuesday morning, as 2022 Saint Louis (Mo.) St. Louis University cornerback Isaac Thompson named the Horns among his top 10 schools, along with others including LSU, USC, Michigan, Penn State, and Missouri
This news speaks to Thompson’s interest in Texas and Jay Valai’s efforts in this recruitment, as the Longhorns are yet to host him for a visit due to the pandemic after becoming one of his latest offers in late may.
The four-star talent is one of 12 cornerbacks currently holding a Texas offer from the class of 2022, but three of which are already committed elsewhere. If Texas can manage to ultimately get Thompson to campus following the pandemic and make headway in his recruitment, it would position the Horns to land their fifth prospect out of Missouri after signing four throughout Herman’s first two full cycles in Austin.
A 6’1, 190-pound talent, Thompson is currently ranked as the nation’s No. 150 player overall and as the No. 18 cornerback, per the 247Sports Composite.
